Cynovo C7 tablet tries to compare itself to iPad with handy chart
One philosophy states that if you want to be known, compare yourself to the biggest dog in the yard. Another branch of that philosophy states that you could just get bit. We’re not really at liberty to say what result Cynovo will have with their efforts, but we sure hope they’re wearing Kevlar sleeves.
Cynovo is keen to compare their C7 tablet to the iPad because, on paper, it looks like the clear victor. The C7 has a 1.3MP webcam. It supports Flash. It multi-tasks. It supports WCDMA/TD-SCDMA/CDMA2000 3G. It comes with two USB ports, two SD card readers and an HDMI. Unfortunately it’s hard to see whether a tablet is “good” or not until you hold it in your hands and see it perform. We haven’t been able to do that with the Cynovo C7. Meanwhile we know the iPad does what it does well.
Also bad: the Cynovo isn’t just competing with the iPad on specs, they’re pricing the C7 right around the iPad’s pricepoint. The rest of the C7′s specs feature an Intel Atom 1.1-1.6GHz processor, 7-inch 1024 x 600 resolution multi-touch screen, 1-2GB or RAM, 8-32GB SSD, 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth and either a Windows or Linux operating system. At least Cynovo has gone the extra step to include a overlaying UI for the Windows version.
