Dell Streak lands in Europe this June, UK gets 3G through O2

The Dell Streak (hint: it's the one in the middle)

The Dell Streak is quickly nearing launch date in Europe. Expected to come out in just a few weeks, followed then by a U.S. release, the Steak aims to fill a void between smartphones and larger tablets like the just released international iPad. In addition, UKers will receive 3G access through British telecom O2.

The Dell Streak, or Mini 5, has a 5-inch multitouch capacitive “unbreakable” screen and runs Android. Meant to be a MID-like device, it can play video, music, display images, surf the web and even take video and pictures through two camera. You can view the CES hands-on video here. The main questions to the Streak’s success will be based on two things: are people ready for a small sized tablet and exactly how much will it cost?

Previously Archos has honed in on this size and type of device functionality with their Archos 5 Internet Tablet. It has shown to be rather popular. However, if size does matter to you Dell will be filling the void with 7-inch and 10-inch Streak tablets expected to be released early next year. Now, for a proper review of the Dell Streak by the BBC…

  1. Second sentence:

“Expected to come out in just a few weeks, followed then by a U.S. release, the Steak aims to fill a void between smartphones and larger tablets like the just released international iPad.”

The STEAK aims to fill a void? In my stomach, possibly? :)
