DPT-Group introduces capacitive touch, Windows powered tablet PCs
DPT-Group has two 7-inch capacitive multitouch tablets on display at CeBIT.
The more interesting of the two tablets (and more expensive, naturally) runs Windows 7 and is powered by an Intel Atom Z 1.6GHz processor. It has 1024MB of DDR2 RAM, between an 8GB to 16GB flash drive, 1024 x 600 resolution screen and a 1.3MP camera. It has WiFi b/g and optional Bluetooth, GPS and 3G. Ports include two USB 2.0, SDHC slot, SIM, HDMI, microphone, external speaker and 3.5mm headphone jack. Battery life is rated for 6 hours and the cost will be between $500 to $700.
The other 7-inch tablet sports a 800 x 480 resolution and runs Windows XP. It features the same CPU but at a 1.1GHz speed and many of the same configurations as the Win7 version. Price will be cheaper than its more capable brother, but JKK (who shot the video) doesn’t ask for a specific price point on that one.
