Great Wall introduces GPad 7-inch and GBook 11-inch Windows tablets

Great Wall GBook Windows 7 tablet

Chinese company Great Wall has introduced two flavors of Windows tablets. The GPad, a 7-inch ARM11 tablet, runs Windows CE while its bigger brother GBook, an 11-inch 1.2Ghz Intel Celeron Dual Core tablet, runs Windows 7.

Let’s start with Great Wall’s GPad first. The GPad has a 7-inch capacitive touch screen and uses a 720Mhz Telechips 8910 processor. It features 256MB of DDR2 RAM, 4GB of flash storage, GPS, HDMI, MicroSD card slot, 0.3 megapixel webcam, WiFi, support for 3G and a 1400mAh battery. All that for 2000 yuan (the equivalent of $300 U.S.). Plus, it’s scheduled to hit store shelves in China in just a few days — May 1st to be exact. Judging by the below video, it looks pretty speedy as well.

Next up is the Great Wall GBook. The GBook features an 11-inch screen capable of 10 input multitouch. It uses a 1.2Ghz Intel Celeron Dual Core SU2300 processor with GMA 4500MHD integrated graphics. It also features 2GB of DDR2 RAM, SD card, Bluetooth and will launch with optional SSD or HDD storage. Launch time is estimated to be June, but there’s no price information or additional specs listed for now. Still, the GBook looks to be one of the more impressive tablet launches that we’ve seen in a while. And for all you Android lovers, Great Wall says they’ll have an Android running option in the near future. Check out a few demo videos below.
