The Wacom Bamboo Touch - a multi-touch graphics tablet

Wacom is finally coming out with a new graphics tablet, except this time they’re throwing out the pen and giving the power back to your finger.

Wacom will be adding to its popular Bamboo line with the Bamboo Touch. It will have a multi-touch panel that will allow you to interact with the new Snow Leopard and Windows 7 operating systems. The Bamboo touch will also include gesture commands like scroll, zoom, rotate and forward/backward. The tablet measures 8.2″ x 5.4″ and has an active area of 4.9″ x 3.4″. It has four shortcut keys that can be programmed by the user. The retail price is $69.99.

We could see this touch interface providing some ease-of-use for certain computer work like video and audio editing. There’s not much information on sensitivity or pressure but we’d be interested to see how well it would work with graphic editing.
