PMP Brief: Newsmy A70HD, Hallods F264, Itoos M6HD and Ramos T11TE

This week's PMP info in one post

We’re starting to think that personal media player tablets are Asia’s most prolific export. So much in fact that we’re going to start posting PMP Briefs when multiple PMPs are announced during a news cycle. Here’s are first brief, which covers the Newsmy A70HD, Hallods F264, Itoos M6HD and Ramos T11TE.

To start, the Newsmy A70HD has a 7-inch, 800×4800 resolution, 16:9 ratio LTPS display with HDMI and TV out. It is capable of streaming 1080p through the HDMI and has 768P HD decoding. The A70HD supports RM, RMVB, AVI, FLV, VOB, MP4, MOV, 3GP, MPG and DAT formats and can play MP3, WMA, OGG, APE and FLAC audio files. There’s also a handful of games on the PMP. The Newsmy A70HD is available now in China for around $118 for the 8GB version.

Next up is Hallods F264 PMP which features a 4-inch screen with 480×272 resolution and supports MP4, FLV, AVI, RM, RMVB, MOV, VOB, 3GP and DAT. It also can play MP3, AAC, FLAC, WMA, APE, WAV and OGG audio files and TXT, JPG, BMP and GIF images. It has 8GB of internal storage with an expandable MicroSD slot for an additional 8GB. The F264 also has a voice recorder, FM tuner, radio recorder and supports YouTube playback. It’s available in Japan for ¥17,000 (roughly $192 U.S.).

The Itoos M6HD continues in their line of smaller-screened PMPs that output HD video. The M6HD has a 4.3-inch display with 8GB of internal storage, a MicroSD card slot for up to 32GB of expandable storage and can stream 1360×768 (or “Super 720p” as they refer to it) from the PMP. It features H.264, MKV, AVI, RM, RMBB, VOB and DAT video playback and peaks at a 30MB per second rate. It also comes with an infrared remote (good when hooked into your TV). It plays MP3, WMA, OGG, APE and FLAC audio formats and has an FM tuner. The all-metal case measures 4.1 x 3 x 0.47 inches. It’s available in China and only under $60 U.S.

Finally we have the Ramos T11TE which sports a 5-inch 800×480 resolution TFT LCD touchscreen with 1080p HDMI video output. It supports MPEG, MPG, DAT, MP4, VOB, AVI, MOV, DVD, ASF, MKV, TS, RM, RMVB and WMV video and MP3, WAV, WMA, OGG, AC3 and FLAC audio. The T11TE also features stereo speakers, a TXT eReader, voice recorder, remote control and TV out. You get 16GB of internal storage and a MicroSD card slot for another possible 16GB. It measures 5.2 x 3.3 x 0.47 inches and costs about $175 U.S.
