Eken M001 Android tablet gets some hands-on review time

Hands on with the Eken M001 Android tablet

It looks like the folks over at Shanzai received a little hands-on time with the Eken M001 Android tablet. The Eken M001 was first announced as the Haleron iLet Mini HAL and features a 7-inch 800 x 480 resolution touchscreen, 600MHz VIA Wondermedia processor, Android 1.6, 2GB of flash storage and SD card slot for expandable storage up to 32GB.

The initial impressions are that that the Eken M001 is “very responsive,” has feature-rich preloaded apps, reasonable processing speed and a great price (at around $100 U.S.). On the flip side the battery is crap. Not great news, especially for Haleron who touted the battery life at 16 hours. Check out the video below for a detailed review by the Shanzai guys.
