Samsung is back, back again with the 7-inch Android S-Pad tablet

Samsung's previous 7-inch tablet sold with LED Couple HDTV
Guess who’s back, back again? Samsung’s back, tell a friend. Yup, that’s right. Samsung is, according to Engadget, getting back into the tablet/UMPC game. We guess they were tired of playing it low key. Now seeing everyone run around and talk about tablets like Samsung ain’t got none. What you think they sold ‘em all?
Evidently Samsung is readying a new 7-inch “Super AMOLED” (which would make a nice name for a rapper) tablet for an August release called the S-Pad (which would not make a nice name for a rapper). Of course we knew that something was in the works as Samsung promised to be developing a tablet that wasn’t just a “glorified MID” back in March. The S-Pad will pack common WiFi along with 3G and will have a focus on eBook reader functions. Word is that Kyobo Books (one of Korea’s largest bookstores) will be preparing an eBook store for the S-Pad that would be similar to the Kindle Store or B&N Marketplace. It will also include a desktop dock with QWERTY input.
We hope that this is in keeping with Samsung’s aforementioned goals for a new tablet. Namely that it be “a primary device in terms of its processing power and IO.” It was also previously rumored to use an Atom Z550 2GHz processor, but all of that’s up in the air. Also, there’s no definitive word on what the Samsung S-Pad may cost. File under “unconfirmed” for now.
We’d just like to note that Samsung has technically already made a 7-inch tablet that was used as a streaming media device and controller for their LED Couple HDTV. It seems that they’re a fan of this size screen in the tablet form factor.
