The iRex DR800SG now for sale at Best Buy
Stop us if you’ve heard this one before, but the iRex DR800SG is now up for sale on BestBuy.com. Sure, Best Buy briefly had it listed for sale months ago but pulled it down. Now it’s for realsies — if you have four Benjamins to blow on it, that is.
The iRex DR800SG is a quality large-scale eReader. It has an 8.1-inch 1024 x 768 resolution display, is equipped with 3G and has a Wacom screen for note taking via stylus. It will also connect to the Barnes & Noble eBook store for purchasing new material. If you have $400 to spend on an eReader the iRex is a good choice. Its closest competitor, the Sony Daily Edition Reader, costs the same, is an inch smaller and while it is touch enabled it has no Wacom digitizer for very accurate writing input. Also, we wouldn’t consider the screen quality on the Sony to be on par with the iRex.
You should be able to test them out side-by-side in the near future as Best Buy will be displaying it in store along with the Sony Reader lineup. No date has been given for instore availability however.
