The ViewSonic VTablet 101 tablet releases its class notes

The ViewSonic VTablet 101 MID

ViewSonic has been expanding its product line lately. It just released a new batch of PMPs and now they’re entering official MID territory. One thing we like about the ViewSonic PMPs and MIDs is that they’re not afraid to put in a large resolution screen. Unlike most companies, they get that people want to watch HD on their player, not by having to stream it to their TV.

The ViewSonic VTablet 101 continues in that trend with its 8.9-inch 1024×800 resolution touchsreen. It has an ARM A9 processor and uses an Android OS. Aside from the typical MID offerings like a miniUSB port and SD card slot, Bluetooth and WiFi 802.11b/g/n, the VTablet 101 also supports 3G (via external modem). It also features a forward facing camera.

ViewSonic says the VTablet 101 will retail for 3,000 yuan ($440) but there’s no word on release date at this time.
