Viewsonic has officially launched their MovieBook VPD400 media play for $149 (but is available here for $126.99).

The Viewsonic MovieBook VPD400 has a 4.3 inch TFT LCD screen with 800×480 resolution. It hold 8GB of internal storage with a Micro SD card slot for expandable storage. It supports video (AVI, RM/RMVB, FLV, MP4, MOV, PMP, MPG, VOD, DAT, H.264, H.263), audio (MP3, WMA, WAV, FLAC, APE, OGG) and photo (JPEG, BMP, PNG, GIF) formats and can last 12 hours for audio, 6 hours for video and 3 hours for HD on a single charge. It can output 720p HD through it’s included component cable, measures 4.4″ x 3.0″ x 0.5″ and weighs 3/10ths of a pound.

The only real downside spotted so far is that it’s only compatible with Windows programs (sorry Mac and Linux users). All in all not a bad offering from Viewsonic and for the $126.99 price it’s sure to fill some stockings come next month.
